Despite the large variety of chamber music performed by the ensemble its main dedication lies with the works of W.A. Mozart and his Salzburg composer colleagues. In particular, the ensemble devoted itself to works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart which he composed for the convivial entertainment of his close circle of friends.

From its very beginning the Salzburger Kammersolisten were directed by Prof. Alois Aigner, a former soloist of the Mozarteum Orchestra and music pedagogue who perfected the ensemble´s work with a number of publications and his popular moderations about Mozart.
